Vijayawada, March 04, 2026: Crimes against women in Andhra Pradesh have decreased by 4.4 per cent, thanks to the efforts of the NDA government in the State, said Minister for Home Vangalapudi Anitha.

Stating that respect for a woman should begin at home, the Minister said that every child, irrespective of their gender, should be brought up without any discrimination. Boys, too, should be taught about responsibilities, she added.

She recalled that it was former Chief Minister late N.T. Rama Rao who introduced equal property rights for women to ensure their safety. A sexual offender sheet would be opened against those committing atrocities against women, the Minister said.

A.P. Women’s Commission Chairperson Rayapati Sailaja, NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha, NTR Police Commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu, and others participated in the event. During the rally, the Minister unveiled the ‘Shakti Team’ brochure.
