Vijayawada, January 17, 2022: Thirty participants were injured while taking part in the jallikattu organised in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, January 16.
Hundreds of people, including those coming from neighbouring Nellore and Kadapa districts, participated in the bull-taming sport ‘Pasuvula Panduga’, a local version of jallikattu, in Chittoor of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
Violating Covid norms, over 500 bulls and hundreds of villagers participated in the annual event under Chandragiri Mandal.
As per the report, more than 30 participants suffered injuries during the event according to the reports published in indiatoday.in.
Similar events were organised under Gundupally mandal of Kuppam assembly constituency represented by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu.
On Sunday, Chittoor reported 1,124 Covid-19 cases, while a total of 4,570 cases were reported in Andhra Pradesh.
