Vijayawada, August 25, 2022: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo Chandrababu Naidu staged a protest by sitting on the road after the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) members demolished an Anna canteen before it could be inaugurated in his own constituency Kuppam.

Former CM Chandrababu Naidu launched Anna canteens while he was ruling Andhra Pradesh. The canteens provide food at an affordable rate for the poor.

After Jagan Mohan Reddy took charge as the Chief Minister in 2019, the government shut down all the Anna canteens in Andhra Pradesh.

As soon as the YSRCP members demolished the building which was ready for the inauguration, clashes emerged between both the party members and police had to resort to lathi charging to de-escalate the situation.

Chandrababu Naidu, who walked to the location with hundreds of his supporters, sat on the road and staged a protest against the YSRCP cadres’ actions according to the reports published in indiatoday.in.

“It’s a black day in the history of the Kuppam, this place has never seen such hooliganism,” said Naidu.

He added, “It will not take a minute for me to do the same, but I will not do it. You might have 60,000 police, but I have 60 lakh loyal cadres.”
