Visakhapatnam, September 13, 2022: The CID personnel in Andhra Pradesh arrested the prime accused of a multi member gang for duping over 7,000 unemployed youth to the tune of Rs 300 crore in the guise of employment (out-sourcing jobs) in the state government as well as in central government.
The key accused was identified as Indupudi Sudhakar, chairman of Smart Yojana Welfare Society, a resident of Narispatnam in Anakapalle district.
The CID personnel mentioned that Indupudi Sudhakar alias Santhosh — along with Ruttula Hari Babu and Kanchavarapu Siva and others — started a society in the name of Smart Yojana Welfare Society.
The gang lured unemployed youth by assuring them of outsourcing jobs in the state government and central government.
They collected over Rs 300 crore from 7,000 unemployed youth and issued fake appointment orders and ID cards to the youngsters and paid salaries for some months and after that they stopped paying.
After some of the youngsters realized that they were cheated by the gang, one of the victims, G Ravi Kumar, a resident of Sangayigudem village under Devarapalle Mandal of East Godavari district lodged a complaint. According to the reports published in timesofindia.indiatimes.com/
The CID personnel registered a case under sections 420, 409, 467, 471 r/w 120-B and 34 of the IPC in August.
The CID personnel have so far examined over 50 witnesses in the case and seized 32 fake and forged appointment letters.
Sudhakar, chairman of the society, was sent for remand.
