As Rajendranath rose to present the budget, TDP MLAs started protesting and raised slogans. The TDP members accused the government of making the Governor praise the state government in his address to the joint session on Tuesday.
As the ruckus continued and Rajendranath was prevented from presenting the budget, Speaker Tammineni Sitaram asked the TDP members several times to calm down, but they did not relent.
As the members threw papers at the Speaker’s podium, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy objected and recommended to the Speaker to suspend them. Rajendranath, also the minister for Legislative Affairs, proposed a privileged motion, and the Speaker suspended the TDP members for the rest of the day according to the reports published in indianexpress.com.
As was expected, a major share of the budget went to the various welfare schemes of the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government. The government allocated Rs 21,434.72 crore to YSR Pension Kanuka and Rs 4,020 crore to YSR Rythu Bharosa.
Other major allocations are for YSR Asara (Rs 6,700 crore), YSR Cheyuta (Rs 5,000 crore) and Amma Vodi (Rs 6,500 crore).
In all, Rs 54,228 crore has been allocated for various direct benefit schemes (DBT).

Jagananna Vidya Deevena – Rs 2,841.64 crore; Jagananna Vasati Deevena – Rs 2,200 crore; YSR-PM Bima Yojana – Rs 1,600 crore; Rs 1,000 crore for interest-free loans to Dwacra communities; Rs 500 crore interest-free loans to farmers; YSR Kapu Nestham – Rs 550 crore; Jagananna Chedodu – Rs 350 crore; YSR Vahanamitra-Rs 275 crore; YSR Netanna Nestham – Rs 200 crore, YSR Matsyakara Bharosa- Rs 125 crore; diesel subsidy for fishermen – Rs 50 crore; compensation to farmer families – Rs 20 crore; Law Nestham (financial assistance to new lawyers) – Rs 17 crore; Jagananna Todu- Rs 35 crore; EBC Nestham – Rs 610 crore; YSR Kalyanamastu Rs 200 crore;
Price stabilisation fund – Rs 3,000 crore; Farm mechanisation – Rs. 1,212 crore; Rs 3,500 crore for Manabadi Nadu-Nedu (schools); Jagananna Vidya Kanuka – Rs 560 crore; Panchayati Raj rural development – Rs 15,873 crore; municipal and urban development – Rs 9,381 crore; Skill development – Rs 1,166 crore; department of youth development, tourism and culture Rs 1,291 crore.
