Andhra Police seizes illegally transported cash, gold and silver worth Rs 5 crore at Telangana border

Vijayawada, March 06, 2022: Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool police, during a routine check at the Panchalingala check post at the Andhra-Telangana border, detained five men for illegally transporting cash, gold and silver worth Rs 5 crore without any valid documents. The incident took place at midnight on Sunday, March 6.

The police seized gold (8 kg) valued at Rs 3.96 crore, silver (28.5 kg) valued at Rs 18.52 lakh and cash worth Rs 90 lakh. Five men from Tamil Nadu, who were travelling on the bus with the illegally transported goods, have been detained.

They did not have valid documents allowing them to transport such a huge quantity of valuables.

At about 12.45 am, during a vehicular check at the Panchalingala checkpoint, five men from Tamil Nadu were detained and the police seized huge quantities of cash, silver and gold from the bus on which they were travelling according to the reports published in indiatoday.in.

The bus belongs to a private travel company by the name Swami Ayyappa travels. The bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Coimbatore.

The case has been handed over to the Kurnool Taluk police station for further investigation.
