Andhra Pradesh becomes first state to roll out Canva across all government schools

Canva for Education - 5

Vijayawada, June 23, 2026: Andhra Pradesh has become the first state in India to provide statewide access to Canva for Education for all government school students, teachers, and education department officials. The initiative is part of the state’s broader push to strengthen digital learning and build future-ready classrooms.

The School Education Department and Samagra Shiksha have partnered with Canva to offer free access to the design and visual communication platform. Students will be able to create presentations, infographics, videos, projects, and other digital content while developing creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills according to the reports published in digitallearning.eletsonline.com.

The platform will be integrated with Andhra Pradesh’s LEAP (Learning Excellence in Andhra Pradesh) app, Google Workspace ecosystem, and Chromebooks deployed in schools, subject to technical feasibility. Teachers will also receive training through a phased Training of Trainers (ToT) model and guidance on the responsible use of AI tools in classrooms.

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will develop Telugu and English template libraries aligned with the state curriculum and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) goals. The initiative aims to create a seamless digital learning environment while making Andhra Pradesh a leader in technology-enabled education.
