Andhra Pradesh governor to make maiden visit to assembly today

Amaravati, March 07, 2022: Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan will be making his maiden visit to the Assembly on Monday to address the joint session of the House and council which will kick-start the budget session. Harichandan had addressed the assembly in the last two sessions in virtual mode due to the Covid-19.

With Covid-19 cases completely dipping in the state, the governor has decided to visit the Assembly to make the address. Senior officials reviewed the arrangements. Special chief secretary to the Governor, RP Sisodia, made the trial run of the visit on Sunday. He took stock of the arrangements including the entry of Governor’s convey into the Assembly, reception arrangements and guard of honour.

Legislature secretary Balakrishnamacharyulu explained the entire schedule of the Governor’s visit. He said chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitharam, and legislative council chairman Koyye Moshenu Raju would receive the Governor at the entrance and escort him into the Assembly according to the reports published in timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
