Nellroe, March 25, 2022: One woman died and over 34 passengers were seriously injured after a bus collided with a truck near Buchireddypalem in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. The injured have been shifted to Nellore hospital for treatment.
According to police, an Andhra Pradesh government bus that was carrying 40 passengers from Atmakur depot to Nellore hit a parked truck and rolled down into crops, and overturned on the Kolkata – Chennai national highway in Nellore. The accident was reported near Ramchandra Reddy Nagar in Buchireddy Mandal.
On receipt of information, police rushed to the spot and immediately swung into rescue operations along with other locals. The injured were rushed to a government hospital in Nellore in 108 vehicles. Doctors said that the condition of four of them is critical according to the reports published in timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
Meanwhile, passengers alleged the accident occurred due to negligent driving by the driver and also alleged he was drowsy. Police registered a case and an investigation is underway upon the accident. The front portion of the bus was totally destroyed in the accident.
