Andhra Pradesh will be dump yard-free State in three years, says Urban Development Minister Narayana

New Delhi, August 11, 2025: Andhra Pradesh would be transformed into a dump yard-free State in the next three years, said Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister P. Narayana while addressing the media after inspecting the Allipuram dump along with the officials in the 9th division of Nellore city on Friday.

Mr. Narayana said, “Steps have been taken to make the State garbage-free and green destination by October 2, 2025. The previous government had left a legacy garbage of of 85 lakh tonnes. Approximately 26,000 tonnes is being removed per day. So far, about 65 lakh tonnes of garbage has been removed.”

“If necessary, steps will be taken to remove 30,000 tonnes of garbage per day. The State government will take strict action to prevent garbage at dumping yards by next month (September). According to the reports published in  thehindu.com there are no dumping yards in the urban areas like Guntur and Vijayawada as two waste-to-energy plants are functioning,” he said.
