Vijayawada, January 18, 2022: Andhra School Reopening and closing news can be checked here. Schools in AP have reopened after Sankranthi holidays amid COVID-19 surge. This has worried many parents who are now demanding an extension of holidays as they feel it is not safe for their wards to attend offline classes.

AP Schools reopened on January 17, 2022 after almost a week of Sankranthi holidays. Reports suggest that the attendance was poor as parents have become worried over rising COVID-19 cases in the state and country. Moreover, with their wards not being fully vaccinated, it only adds to their side of the argument.

A report in IANS mentioned that minister Suresh Kumar told reporters, “Already 150 days of school have been completed in this academic year, and we intend to continue the remaining session in offline mode. Due to the Covid pandemic, we followed an ‘all pass’ approach in the last years but we understand the problems that the students will face in future if this continues.”

The state government is also of the view that there is hardly any relation between schools reopening and rising cases. The IANS report further mentioned that the government would like to continue with online classes as 90% of the staff is vaccinated and many children in the eligible population have received the first dose according to the reports published in timesnownews.com.

Andhra School Reopening can be seen across the state. At this point, some reports are also suggesting that Andhra Pradesh government might reconsider the decision of keeping schools open. Seeing this backlash from parents and sparse attendance, the government might announce something with regards to extending holidays.

However, there is no official confirmation on the same and amid such confusion, parents and stakeholders are advised to only believe news coming from official sources. In case of any leads on Andhra Pradesh, AP schools reopening or closing, it would be updated here.
