Vijayawada, March 17, 2023: Counting of votes for the MLC election in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is currently underway amid tight security. The ruling YSRCP candidates have emerged victorious in many of the seats for which polling was conducted on Monday.
The seats where polling was conducted include — 3 graduates MLC seats in Andhra Pradesh (Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam, Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor and Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool); 2 teachers constituencies (Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor and Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool) and 3 local authorities constituencies (Srikakulam, West Godavari and Kurnool).
According to the reports published in zeebiz.com Polling was also conducted simultaneously in neighbouring Telangana on Monday. Polling took place for the lone teachers constituency Mahabubnagar-Hyderabad-Rangareddy. The result of the Telangana MLC election will also be announced today.
