State human rights commission’s temporary office inaugurated at Kurnool

Tirupati, September 02, 2021: Andhra Pradesh human rights commission‘s temporary office was inaugurated at the state guest house at Kurnool on Wednesday.

State human rights commission chairman Justice M Seetharama Murti inaugurated the temporary offices at Room no 1, 2 and 4 at the state guest house and said the commission will start receiving complaints and grievances from the public through the online mode for a brief period because of the Covid-19 restrictions in place due to the possible outbreak of the third wave.

Justice M Seetharama Murti thanked chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and the district collector for according all the requisite support for establishing the state human rights commission’s offices in Kurnool within a short span of time after the decision was made.
He appealed to the public at large to approach the commission with their complaints in case they are subjected to or come across any human rights violations. The commission will receive complaints from the public through the online mode until the Covid-19 situation comes under complete control according to the reports published in timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

Following the directions of the high court that all judicial bodies including autonomous commissions and tribunals must relocate from Hyderabad and function from Andhra Pradesh’s soil, the state government had sped up the process of allotment of temporary offices at the earliest to various judicial bodies at Kurnool.

With more commissions and tribunals expected to be established in Kurnool which is being showcased as the judicial capital of Andhra Pradesh, the revenue department has engaged itself in the preparation of a comprehensive report suggesting buildings and sites suitable for various judicial bodies.
