New Delhi, July 13, 2021: The Supreme Court on Friday directed AIIMS to postpone the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) for at least one month. The apex court said that AIIMS would give an appropriate date from one month on June 16.“Supreme Court orders postponement of INI-CET 2021 exam for admission to postgraduate medical courses in all AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER and NIMHANS, scheduled for June 16, by at least one month in view of COVID19 situation,” reports ANI.
“Considering that the candidates have been rendering covid duties far away from Centres chosen and inadequate time for preparation, we are of the view that fixation of the date on June 16th is arbitrary,” the bench said.
The plea was filed by the India Medical Association, Medical Student Network (Chhattisgarh Chapter) along with 35 serving doctors before the apex court challenging the conduct of the INI CET examination on 16th June 2021 and seeking directions to postpone the exam being conducted for admission to postgraduate courses in leading Government Medical Institutes in the Country including AIIMS, JIPMER, and NIMHANS according to the reports published in timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
