Vijayawada, November 13, 2024: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday announced that the Tata Group would remain a key partner in the state’s economic development. This came after Naidu’s meeting with Tata Group’s Executive Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, where they discussed about investing in developmental projects in the state.
Taking to X, Naidu praised the late Ratan Tata’s visionary contributions to Andhra Pradesh and reiterated the Tata Group’s importance in the state’s growth plans.
Naidu revealed that Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is set to establish a new IT Development Centre in Visakhapatnam, projected to create 10,000 jobs.
He also announced that Indian Hotels Company Limited, a Tata subsidiary, is exploring plans to open 20 new hotels in Andhra Pradesh under brands like Taj, Vivanta, and Ginger, alongside a large convention centre to boost tourism and industry.
Tata Power is evaluating projects to generate over five gigawatts (GW) of solar and wind energy in the state, which could bring investments worth approximately Rs 40,000 crore.
Naidu also discussed potential partnerships with Tata Group to develop deep tech and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for primary healthcare.
Through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, the Tata Group will mentor entrepreneurs across the state as part of Andhra Pradesh’s “One Family, One Entrepreneur” initiative, aimed at supporting aspiring youths according to the reports published in indiatoday.in.
This is the second time Tata Group’s Executive Chairman Chandrasekharan has met Naidu, after the NDA government led by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) came to power in Andhra Pradesh.
