Vijayawada, December 27, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday directed the officials to go ahead with the proposed reorganisation of districts, divisions, and mandals with minor modifications, according primacy to public opinion.
The Chief Minister reviewed the objections and suggestions received on the preliminary notification and instructed the officials to issue the final notification after incorporating necessary changes.
The State government had issued the preliminary notification on November 27, proposing the reorganisation of districts, including creation of three new districts and five new revenue divisions. It had sought objections and suggestions from the public for one month. A total of 927 objections and representations were received from across the State.
Chairing a review meeting at his camp office, in which several Ministers and senior officials participated, the Chief Minister discussed at length the objections and suggestions received, and emphasised that public sentiment should be respected while taking final decisions on administrative restructuring.
Following public demand, Mr. Naidu directed that five mandals of the Gudur Assembly constituency be merged with Nellore district again. Discussions were also held on proposals to retain Railway Koduru in Tirupati district, Rayachoti in Madanapalle district, and Rajampet, Siddhavatam and Ontimitta in Kadapa district. A final decision on these was yet to be taken.
In view of its large geographical size, it was agreed to bifurcate Adoni into two mandals. In Anakapalli district, it was decided to establish Addaroad Junction division in place of Nakkapalle division. Munagapaka mandal would be included in Anakapalli division, while Achyutapuram mandal would come under the proposed Addaroad Junction division.
No changes in Polavaram dist.
The Chief Minister made it clear that there would be no changes in the proposed Polavaram district with Rampachodavaram as its headquarters, and it would remain as mentioned in the preliminary notification.
The government decided to retain several changes already proposed in the preliminary notification. These included shifting Nandigam mandal in Srikakulam district from Palasa division to Tekkali division; moving Cheedikada mandal in Anakapalli district from Narsipatnam division to Anakapalli division; and transferring Samarlakota mandal in Kakinada district from Kakinada division to Peddapuram division.
In Prakasam district, Addanki, Ballikurava, Santamaguluru, J. Panguluru and Korisapadu mandals of Addanki Revenue Division would be included in Prakasam district. Marripudi and Ponnaluru mandals of Kanigiri Revenue Division would be shifted to Kandukur Revenue Division and merged into Prakasam district. The remaining two mandals of Kandukur division— Varikuntapadu and Kondapuram — would be shifted to the Kavali division.
In Chittoor district, Bangarupalem mandal of Palamaner division would be shifted to Chittoor division. Chowdepalle and Punganur mandals would be moved from Palamaner division to Madanapalle Revenue Division, while Sadum and Somala mandals would be shifted to the Piler Revenue Division in Madanapalle district.
In Sri Sathya Sai district, a new Madakasira Revenue Division would be created. Amadagur mandal would be merged into Puttaparthi Revenue Division, while Gorantla mandal would be included in Penukonda Revenue Division.
After incorporating these changes, the State government would issue the final notification on December 31, 2025.
